Sometimes, no matter how hard we work, no matter how well we plan, the day can get away from us and the to-do list remains mostly undone.
Obviously, this is a glass half-full situation. We can focus on what we’ve done and be proud, or what we’ve not done and feel like a failure. What’s less obvious is that no matter which of those two options we choose, we’ve got to take the next step.
We might have a shorter list but one of those remaining tasks now takes priority. Our next step is to focus on it so that we can complete it to the best of our ability. Thinking about whether we did, or did not, tick off all the items from before is a waste of energy.
